The party of last week was the fabulous Jaguar XJ launch at the Saatchi Gallery. I mingled my heart away with the likes of Elle Macpherson, model Poppy Delevingne, top designer Matthew Williamson and David Hasselhoff.

Hilariously Matthew managed to get caught up in a tangle with Elle after the pair embraced. He told me: “Oh Lord, I just managed to get Elle’s bugle beads from her dress tangled on my collar. She bugle beaded me.” Elle, Matthew, Jefferson Hack and the nights host Jay Leno all walked away with brand new versions of the car but Matthew decided to go for the sport. He told me: “I don’t want one of those huge things. So I’ve gone for the Jaguar XK. It’s more me – I couldn’t drive those massive Jags.”

Elsewhere at the bash singer Sophie Ellis Bextor told me she’s hard at it putting the finishing touches on her new album, Kirstie Allsopp revealed she’d love to do another series of Kirstie’s Homemade Home if the offer comes up and The Hoff played the diva disappearing upstairs to “escape fans” midway through the night.

I caught up with the JLS boys last week in the play.com VIP area at Take That and spoke to JB from the band about the lads’ dreams for the future. He told me: “The Take That show was wicked. We were picking up tips as it shows what you can do with a tour on that level. It’s a dream for us to do a stadium tour at some point in the future. I can’t even imagine the buzz you would get from performing on a stage like that.
“They are the biggest boyband this country has seen for years, if we even achieve half of what they have, we’d take that.”
The boys are well on their way to achieving their first number one single with debut release Beat Again – out now. It’s looking like a chart topper on pre-sales alone. It’s an awesome track – and the album will follow in October!

Latino lovely Shakira invited me down to her recording studio in Notting Hill this week to listen to five tracks from her eagerly awaited album, She Wolf.

And boy oh boy is she onto a winner – I heard five songs and all of them were potential singles. She moans and groans (and even howls) throughout the songs – some of which have been produced by Pharrell Williams.

We talked about her famous curves after the playback and she told me how she stays in shape. Shakira revealed: “When I’m not promoting or performing I let things go like normal. But I’ve been doing fifteen minutes of sit-ups a day and working out pretty much every day for an hour too. And instead of eating fried stuff and cakes and things I’m having to be super good again. It doesn’t take long to get your body back into shape though – two weeks tops!” I wish it was the same for us mere mortals!

TPT’s Matalan heir ex-boyfriend Jamie Hargreaves isn’t feeling the pinch with the credit crunch. A little bird tells me he flew DJ Sam Ronson across from LA to spin the tunes for his nephew’s birthday party last week. And before you ask, there was no Lindsay Lohan in sight. My mole reveals: “Sam looked so moody – like she was chewing on a wasp. She played, left and took a whopping pay cheque.” Nice work – if you can get it, eh!

*Fearne Cotton’s range of www.very.co.uk has been going down a storm. I’m told the star of Radio One’s range is the must have collection for the site. Fearne is happy with it too. She tells me: “I’m really proud of the range and I’m hoping it sells out!”

*I’m off to meet Whitney Houston tonight when she launches her comeback album in London. The album’s called I Look To You and you’ll get the verdict next week! It’s so good to have her back….

*Denise Van Outen has her own ideas on who should replace Fern Britton – she tells me: “Vanessa Feltz would be good too. She’s brilliant fun. But I think Gaby Roslin will be the best for the job really.” I agree, Den!

*The Dolce and Gabbana party this week attracted the likes of Little Boots, Paloma Faith and beautiful model Ben Grimes. Even BGT winners Diversity were there. Instead of mingling they just danced in a circle with each other! Nowt diverse about that, boys!

*Rachel Steven’s held a small hen party at London’s swanky new Sanctum Hotel last weekend. But from what I hear it was far from a rave up – the singer had a pyjama party theme. Hmmm. The former S Clubber will walk down the aisle within weeks to Alex Bourne.

*I have some truly Scary news: Spice Girl MEL B is designing her own sex toy. The star is working on a “product” to be released early next year. No word yet on whether it will be emblazoned in animal print…

*Stella McCartney was all hugs and kisses when she bumped into Guy Ritchie at London’s The Double Club. Madonna’s ex and her best pal Stella being very civil is a sign that all is now amicable on the Madge\Guy front. Good to know!

*Here’s one for you all to watch – Paloma Faith performed a small set in the restaurant at The Double Club in London. She is totally spellbinding. Quirky, raw and not that dissimilar to Amy Winehouse.

I asked top studmuffin Johnny Depp how he always manages to look so hot. The star of Public Enemies told me: “It’s about clean living. Avoid wine at all costs, avoid all liquor, don’t smoke or anything. Stay in your room in your house and watch lots of reality TV – that’s all I do.”

Mmm… I smell BS!

*Take That have a fan in Gavin and Stacey star James Corden – I hear he popped down to the man band’s London gig at Wembley for the second time on Friday. I’m off to see them today in the play.com hospitality and VIP’s include Alexandra Burke and JLS! Woo hoo!

*Daisy Lowe is helping out her pal Mischa Barton. The former OC star is apparently staying with charming model Daisy for three weeks at her London pad while she finds herself a flat in town to set up home. Welcome to Blighty, Misch!

*Kate Middleton enjoyed a glass of vino with a girlfriend at London’s Bluebird bar this week during the Serena Williams tennis match. She’s a real stunner.

*TV make-up guru Gary Cockerill and presenter Phil Turner are getting married again. The pair, who only wed in December 2005, will have pal Katie Price walking Gazza down the aisle at the Midsummer Night’s Dream ceremony being filmed for Living TV series Four Weddings.

*This weekend’s Barclaycard Wireless Festival in Hyde Park is all set to be star-studded. I hear Colin Farrell and Maggie Gyllenhaal will be there!

*I popped by the closing party of London’s coolest pop-up nightclub – The Double Club in Angel last week. Bryan Ferry performed a blistering set of his hits, while outside in the smoking area Jon Bon Jovi puffed away alongside Trinny Woodall, and designer Giles Deacon mingled with pals.
