Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding calms down the party life for the big time!

December 7th, 2009

Sarah Harding is pulling a Billie Piper to make that full conversion into TV and film star. First thing she’s doing is eradicating that Camden Caner reputation of yester year. I spotted the blonde star at Nick Ede’s charity event to raise awareness about The Stroke Association and she wouldn’t take a picture with fans until she’d gotten rid of her alcoholic beverage from the frame. She then said: “This is the new me. I’m behaving from now on.” Good for her.

Meanwhile Sarah stars in MTV’s new show ‘Sarah Harding In 24 Hours’ where a telly crew follow her around in a reality stylee. The show goes out on December 13 at 7pm and she reveals she’s not exactly been happy in Girls Aloud – thus why the band have taken a year out from working together. “Now its time to do our own thing for a while,” she reveals. “We did need a change of a direction. We’d been doing the same thing for 7 years and it gets a bit tedious. When it’s not as much fun anymore, you have to go away and remember what you first enjoyed about that and learn to miss it. I’m no spring chicken anymore. In girlband years I’m about 40! Seven years in a band, add on 3 years for each year (like dog years) then add on a bit more, that’s how much I feel I’ve aged.” Fortunately she still looks like a spring chicken – when she’s rested!

David Guetta working with Madonna, Fergie and Will.i.am

December 7th, 2009

It has been the year of David Guetta as far as the music world is concerned. And the man himself was celebrating earlier this week with five Grammy nominations for his work with the Black Eyed Peas and Kelly Rowland during the past few months. But now I hear he’s preparing to go back into the studio with Fergie and Will.i.am to record new material. He’s also just been given the thumbs up from Madonna – he’s remixed her next single Revolver for his ‘One Love’ Remix.

Rory Bremner's loving impersonating Louis Walsh right now…..

December 7th, 2009

Impersonator Rory Bremner has a new obsession – imitating X Factor star Louis Walsh. Rory told me at Savile Row’s Winter Style Evening this week: “Louis is a great person to do. I love doing him. It’s a lot about breathing. In fact all the X Factor judges are great to do. I do Simon too – and I loved the fact Debra Stephenson has returned to her roots and is doing impressions again. He’s very talented and did well getting Cheryl Cole nailed before other people. I spoke to Ronni Ancona about it and we both think she’s done a great job.” I couldn’t agree more!

Dame Judi Dench talks Bond and retirement at the Nine film premiere

December 7th, 2009

Now listen here carefully you lot, the Dame is speaking. Judi Dench told me at the premiere of Nine she has no plans to slow down her career that’s spanned a spectacular 52 years. She said: “I have no plans to put my feet up. I work. That’s what I do. I’m doing Midsummer Night’s Dream for Peter Hall – I did the original for him in 1962 and now I’m doing it at the Rose in Kingston.”
I asked Dame Judi what attributes each of the actresses Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren, Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson brought to the film. “Each of them is going to surprise you in this film,” she said. “That’s Rob Marshall, the director – that’s what he gets out of people.”
Finally we nattered about the next Bond film. She squealed: “I look forward to the next one – Daniel Craig again. I’m not ready for a new Bond yet.” Nor am I, Judi!

Michael Lohan reveals he DIDN'T try to top himself – and talks about Lindsay's latest 'therapy'

December 1st, 2009

Dad of the decade Michael Lohan continues to talk about his troubled daughter in an effort to stay in the press. This time he revealed all to Sydney’s best radio station 2Day FM. He even claimed on the Kyle and Jackie O show that he’s not even on Twitter, just days after statements on his supposed Twitter account said he was going to kill himself…..

Michael revealed: “Well right now, I’m hanging from a bungee cord from the Brooklyn Bridge, don’t mind me. Come on, I was shopping with my fiancé yesterday and my Thanksgiving was a wonderful Thanksgiving. My lawyers have been on Twitter now for about three months because this person who says it’s ‘The Michael Lohan’ and ‘The Real Michael Lohan’, that’s not me, I have no Twitter account. The funny thing is this person has personal pictures of me, with my dog, with my fiancée, with my kids and personal information about me so it’s very troubling. My attorneys have been in touch with Twitter and they are yet to do anything to stop this so now we’re going to take legal action.

“I don’t have a Twitter account, I never did. I think it’s important for you to make a statement out there and really try to do something about this because I don’t care if it’s Twitter, Facebook, My Space, people can go on these social networks and create a profile and say they’re you but there have to be safeguards, that’s identity theft and a criminal impersonation.”

He also decided to tell all about his daughter Lindsay Lohan being in therapy. He revealed: “I’m very happy that Lindsay’s getting therapy now but I’m still concerned about the prescription drugs. Three times a week, started about a week ago and she’s doing much, much better however I still think prescription drug use is a horrible thing and it’s very dangerous.”

You don’t say, Michael.

Claudia Schiffer: "There's no replacement for us supermodels….yet!"

November 28th, 2009

Claudia Schiffer’s like a mature cheese! She just seems to get better with age!

I caught up with her at the plush Swarovski Crystal Snowflake bash to aid UNICEF this week and we spoke about her latest saucy cover shoot for I-D Magazine where she appears naked alongside original supermodels Eva Herzigova and Helena Christensen.

Claudia, picture above with the charming Nadja Swarovski and me, revealed: “Doing that cover was amazing. The inside shoot was just incredible to work on. I love the fact that I’ve been working for UNICEF for twenty years as well as modeling and I’m still enjoying it.

“I think the supermodels captured a generation and at the minute there’s no replacement. Maybe there will be one day. I really don’t know why we were plucked to be supermodels. I guess it was just of the moment. I hope one day there will be replacements but for now we’re still in control.”

She certainly is – just check out the ladies on the I-D cover below – it’s on sale now and well worth a look! The supermodels always were in a completely different league compared to some of the big models of today.

Amanda Holden says Simon Cowell will pull Susan Boyle out of the limelight if she cracks up…..

November 28th, 2009

Amanda Holden tells me if things do get too much for Susan Boyle with her escalating worldwide fame then Simon Cowell WILL pull the plug in her career to ensure she stays sane!
Speaking after her performance at the Ferrero Christmas Concert at the Westfield Centre she told me: “I saw the pictures of Susan Boyle today and I don’t think she’s anywhere near a breakdown. I mean, obviously she’s going to be under a huge amount of pressure but if things go wrong they will all be there for her.
“I’ve spoken to Simon about all of this and he’s said if things get too much then he will pull the plug on it all. Touring, promotional activity – the lot. Susan’s state of mind and health are far more important.” We shall see!

Take That launch their new PS3 Singstar game…..with Kate Moss, James Corden and Pixie Geldof

Kate Moss

Kate Moss

I had a superb night out this week when I popped along to the Playstation 3 Singstar Take That launch in Notting Hill. It was a celeb packed event with the likes of Kate Moss, Pixie Geldof, Ben Grimes, Rachel Stevens, Jenny Frost, James Corden and Taio Cruz all in the house.

A few choice observations from the evening. Kate Moss needs to clean up her act – it was more like Kate Mess. I wish she’d sort it out and start cleaning up her act. Watching her hit a party is becoming truly tragic to watch. At one point the drunken model stumbled around and looked to fall over! Just an average night for Kate I reckon.

Take That

Elsewhere I had a lovely little natter with Rachel before being thrown out of the VIP area by Fran Cutler. She reminds me of Trunchbull in the film Matilda the way she stomps around. She doesn’t look far off it either!

Pixie Geldof

Anyway Trunchbull aside, it was a fun night. Pixie was loving every minute of the bash and sang along to every word, Rachel looked lovely with her super long hair and James Corden turned heads turning up with a new blonde girlfriend on his arm.
