The rest of this week's column featuring Britney Spears, Kelly Brook, Kimberly Wyatt and James Blunt

January 9th, 2011

*Atomic Kitten fans better reached for a box of tissues as I have bad news. Jenny Frost – who came second out of the girls in Channel 4′s Famous And Fearless – has told me there’s no chance of the girls getting back together since splitting in 2004. She revealed: “Me and the girls are still pals and we still do stuff together but I don’t think we’ll be going back into the studio.”

*Kimberly Wyatt is one busy lady. Not only has she slotted her bending legs back behind the panel on the second series of Sky1’s Got To Dance but she’s also paring it with judging duties on the American version, Live To Dance. Phew!
“I’ll appear in the UK on Sunday and fly to America for Wednesday. It’s going to be interesting that’s for sure but I couldn’t be more grateful. Fortunately I live in LA so I get to be home with my dog and my little family.”
The former Pussycat Doll also revealed she was gutted to hear her old girlband has been disbanded after Nicole Scherzinger quit. But she reckons their sexy clobber may soon get new owners. “We knew at the start that it was set up not to be forever and we were made very aware that we could be replaced,” she said. “There were girls before us and I’m sure there will be girls after us. That’s something that we’ve had to come to terms with. It could completely continue though as the Dolls have been going for fifteen years.”

*Congratulations are in order for Mark Ronson’s model squeeze Josephine De La Baume. I hear the brunette has been lined up and signed a deal to become the face and body of up market kinky undies company Agent Provocateur. But the model has fallen in hot water over “leaked” Youtube footage of the star wearing the brand’s sexy lingerie. The voyeuristic footage of de la Baume was posted on the video site earlier this week. The shaky film features the model in a hotel room, undressing from her Agent Provocateur dress to reveal her underwear. Minxy!

*Britney Spears is back with a HUGE pop record called Hold It Against Me. I can let you all know that the single will be released here on February 20 and the as yet untitled album will drop in March. The star is being reunited with X Factor creative director Brian Friedman, who will choreograph the vid, at the video shoot this week. Bring. It.

*This year’s Hampton Court Palace Festival sounds like it’s going to be bigger and better than previous years. The first two acts that I hear are signed up to perform are soft rock legend Bryan Adams and James Blunt. The boys will play at the Palace in June and tickets go on sale next Friday. Register at the website for tickets now at www.hamptoncourtpalacefestival.co.uk. I also hear Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts will be providing the picnics. Get in.

*Simon Cowell – listen up! Original diva Dionne Warwick called me this week to tell me she’s gagging for a place on the American X Factor judging panel.
“What I’d really love to do is to be on the panel. I think I’ve a little bit of information to share and it’s nice to be around young pop artists. It’s definitely something I’d like to put in Simon’s ear to see if he can fix it.” Do it! And despite notching up a mountain of hits during a mammoth 50 years in the music biz, the Walk On By warbler refused to let me call her the ‘L’ word.
“It’s very strange for people to call me a legend because I still have a long way to go. I’m a legend in the making! Legends are people like Ella Fitzgerald so I have very big shoes to fill. I don’t think it’s modesty – I think it’s honesty!“
You can catch the songstress tonight leading an all star cast of performers in a charity concert at London’s Apollo Theatre to promote the work of The Hunger Project. Visit www.worldhungerday.org.uk for more info.

*Scott Mills is the luckiest dude alive. I swear. He’s become friends with Take That star Robbie Williams and has just spent the last week with the star staying at his LA mansion. My sources spotted the pair dining out at LA nightspot Osteria Mozza this week. But it’s not just the Robster that Scott has been eating with. He also went for a bite with Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz aka Artie and Tina from Glee. How incredibly showbiz of Mr Mills.

*My pal Myleene Klass has taken the bull by the horns throughout her current pregnancy – she’s eating whatever she wants, whenever she wants it. Last time we dined out she had a bowl of chips followed by scones and strawberry jam. She updated me this week and said: “Aunt Bessies yorkshire puddings. By the plate load.” Wow, how am I going to stick to detoxing in January with a friend like this!

Spice Girl Geri Halliwell talks about her Next swimwear range

January 9th, 2011

This year looks set to be pretty big for Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. Not only is she beavering away in a creative role on the new Spice Girls musical, she’s also launching her first swimwear range with high street store Next.
And from what the star tells me she has a special affiliation to the store. “Well I used to work there years ago,” she revealed. “So the range is a dream come true. I never thought all those years ago that I’d one day be designing for Next.
“I’ve worked hard on it too. I’m not just lending my name. I’ve gone out, sourced all the fabrics, made the designs with a team and I’m modeling in the campaign too. Which was a lot of fun.
“I’ve just been out to shoot the second campaign and the range is great. I want it to be affordable for people and having worn it all myself I know that it’s a good product and I’m proud of it.”
I’m pleased for Geri. She’s a grafter…..

Spice Girls Victoria Beckham and Mel B fall out….but for how long?

January 9th, 2011

They famously said ‘Friendship Never Ends’ but it would appear two of the Spice Girls are not so sure.
I can reveal Victoria Beckham and Melanie Brown have been embroiled in a behind the scenes row that’s been bubbling for the past couple of months.
The pair – who currently both live in Los Angeles – fell out three months ago when Scary Mel started filming her Bravo reality show It’s A Scary World. I’m told Mel bombarded fashion designer Victoria with phone calls and texts to borrow a vast array of her pricey designer gowns for the show but was turned down because Posh didn’t have any gowns to lend as she’d sold out of outfits to lend to her ‘pal’.
My Spice source reveals: “Victoria would have lent her outfits if she physically could have but she just didn’t have anything to lend. The samples were not the right size for Mel’s curves and the sizes she needed were not in stock.
“Victoria would have lent to her if she could, obviously. But Mel seemed to take major offence that she didn’t pull strings. And she was fuming.
“The trouble is that even if she had sent her dresses the likelihood is she wouldn’t have gotten them back. That’s what Mel is known for. And although that thought didn’t even come into the equation – Victoria got it in the neck from her.”
The source tells me the pair have yet to speak since the falling out – which involved Mel sending poor Victoria a few choice texts.
“They’ve not spoken for months,” says my mole. “The texts were very Mel and she was clearly very angry. She explodes and goes mental for a bit but eventually she simmers down.
“They will kiss and make up but for now they’re not on the best terms. Victoria’s not too worried about it – it’s Mel who’s still holding a grudge.”
The pair have always sparred off each other since the early days of Spiceworld. Mel even admitted recently that they hardly speak. She said: “Victoria and I are very different. People bracket us together because we live in the same city and we’re both interested in fashion. Victoria’s fashion line has been very successful and hopefully mine will be too. But that’s where the similarities begin and end.”
Fortunately I’m sure the pair will have to – or at least be forced to – kiss and make up soon when the girls are reunited for the premiere of the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever which is due to open later in the year.
Come on ladies – life’s too short to hold a grudge!

All the gossip from the People's Choice Awards in LA!

January 9th, 2011

*Natalie Portman is the girl of the moment right now. All my contacts in LA are saying the critics agree she deserves an Oscar for her performance in Black Swan. And she’s celebrating being newly engaged and pregnant. She revealed: “I feel absolutely amazing. I had a bit of sickness at the beginning but I’m feeling good now.”
She also couldn’t help but gush about the fact she had a blast making out with Ashton Kutcher in new film No Strings Attached. She said: “He made me laugh constantly. He’s such a funny guy and Demi was great too. It’s always a bit awkward to meet the woman who’s husband you’re kissing on set but she was really friendly and we all went out together after filming. They are so in love it’s insane.” I bet Demi was on set! Ha!

*Taylor Swift is such a skinny minnie in real life. And she sounds like a fussy lady when it comes to her food.
Asked how she stayed in shape for the red carpet she replied: “I’m a yoga fanatic! I love to work out and yoga is the one time I can really relax and let myself go. I also don’t eat anything process and eat a lot of fresh fish and vegetables. Trust me I’m not perfect though – I love my food and can pig out when I want to. It’s my one weakness.” Yeah, right.

*Kim Kardashian showed off a healthy trout pout this week. The star spoke to me about her new rumoured love interest, basketball player Kris Humphries. She laughed: “Put it this way, I’m living the single life and having fun. Kris is a great guy and we’re seeing how it goes but it’s early days so I don’t want to say too much. I am ready for true love and want to find someone who wants the same out of life as I do. I’m broody as hell and am ready to settle down! I just need to find a man who can handle me!” Imagine how that Kardashian booty will inflate if she gets up the duff. I love that thought.

Catching up with Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton

January 9th, 2011

Chantelle_3D

So tell me all about your new fitness DVD Bootcamp Workout Chantelle?
It’s not like a lot of them out there which are all about huge weight-loss. I have lost weight but it’s not a crash fad diet one where you loose four stone. If you lose a lot of weight very quickly then you always put it back on. It’s not good for your body doing that either. Even with yo-yo dieting you’ll always find that you’ll end up being bigger as you’re messing around with your metabolism. If you loose four stone over a period of seven-eight months then you’ll be more likely to keep it off as it’s not sudden. My DVD is promoting the fact that if you do exercise like this and eat well then you will lose weight and keep it off like I have done. It’s not a run-of-the-mill DVD.

Do you feel much more confident now you have you’re new bod?
God yeah, definitely. It’s so nice to go shopping for clothes and not be looking for them to hide my stomach or another part of my body. I feel much more confident just walking along the street and not covering any area up. It’s so nice to go shopping for things that you love rather than buy baggy tops to hide stuff, I hated that.

But you were never big…
I really was. I was never huge but compared to what I’m like now I was big. I was starting to pile on the pounds. I think in your late twenties it really starts to creep up on you and before I knew it I was a size 12-14 and I had never been like that in my life. I know that’s not huge but compared to what I have always been like that was big for me.

chantelle_187
So what’s an average day like for you now – do you have a structured exercise regime and diet?
I just sort of exercise when I feel like it really. I do it three-four times a week but I haven’t got any structure to it really. I’m eating healthy but every now and then I’ll have something bad but you’ve got to haven’t you?

Would you ever have considered getting liposuction to shift the excess pounds like fellow celebs Kerry Katona and Katie Price did?
I don’t disagree with it but I think it’s one of the most natural things in the world to exercise and eat healthy. I think it’s a real shame if you have to turn to surgery to loose weight, I really do. If someone wants it done then that’s their choice but I personally wouldn’t want to have it done as I think you can loose weight naturally.

And you’re now all loved up with a new hot man, TV presenter Rav Wilding.
Yeah, he’s great. We met through mutual friends and just clicked and it’s worked out alright. It’s early days so we’ll see how it goes. We’ve been dating for about two months now.

Were you nervous about putting another relationship in the spotlight?
(Long pause). I mean… I mean… You can’t not. There is no other way to go about it so if it doesn’t work out then it doesn’t work out. If it does, then great. I can’t hide it and you just have to go with it. It’s hard to sneak around and be secretive. I’m not scared about it at all and am quite open-minded about it all really.

Are you loved up yet?
Ooh, I don’t know about the ‘L’ world. That’s quite a big word isn’t it? Even those it’s only four letters it means a lot. You know, it’s just really early days so we’ll see how it goes.

Did your new found confidence that you got from your new bod helpwith dating again?
I think when you meet someone and you feel better in your body then you do feel better being with them and going out with them. So yeah it did help. I wouldn’t say that I met a man because I lost weight but it did help. I felt a lot better going for dinner with him in clothes that I wanted to wear rather than ‘Oh my God can he see my fat belly?’

Did you have to seek approval from anyone first on dating Rav?
Oh no, I don’t seek approval from anyone. I usually get advice from people but ultimately I’ll do it my way anyway. I should really listen to people but us girls are going to do it anyway.

Is Rav romantic?
Yeah he’s really romantic but like I said it is just so early days so you don’t want to jinx anything.

chantelle_251

Have you learnt anything from what you went through with Preston that you can apply to your new relationship?
God definitely. Like I’m going to take it a lot slower and not get married in like six months! But you know what, I don’t regret that. I’m definitely not going to rush into marriage. It’s really hard to get out of! It costs more to get a divorce than it does to get married. It’s a proper palaver getting divorced.

Well you’ll already taking things slower as you didn’t even give him a snog until the fifth date…
Yeah definitely. I just didn’t want it to be like we went out then we had to kiss. I wanted to spend some time together and I wanted to know that I wanted to kiss him. You know what I mean? I could feel that I really fancied him but on the first date I didn’t know if I wanted to kiss him. So I waited until I was ready.

Do you think it will surprise anyone that you held off locking lips with him for so many dates?
Yeah it probably will. Especially considering my track history where I get married in six months! But that’s the only thing I’ve learnt from experience – to take things slowly.

Do you think you reckon your track history may have scared off any other prospective blokes?

Yeah probably. I 100% think a lot of men are put off by the fact that I have been married. I don’t why; I wouldn’t not date a man because he has been married before. But there is always that ‘Ooh is she over that relationship?’ because it is such a big thing. They need to get over it because I have.

So 2011 looks like it’s set to be a great year for you.
I’m just concentrating on being happy and healthy and starting as I mean to go on. I’ve got some more underwear stuff coming up but obviously I am concentrating on my DVD at the moment. I’d love to do my own underwear range so fingers crossed. I’ve always been interested in that so that’s the main thing I want to do. Get my new body out on show!

Would you like to do some more reality TV?
Yeah definitely because that’s what I do and I suppose that’s what I’m good at really.

Have you made any New Year’s resolutions?

I just want to keep my weight off really and keep fit. I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions as there’s nothing that I do which is that terrible to make me think I don’t want to do it. I just want to enjoy my life.

What do you think about Peter Andre’s new relationship with Elen Rivas?

Yeah I heard about that. I just don’t think you should comment on anyone else’s relationship because it makes it harder for them. Good luck to them. I hope he is happy. The rumours about me and him were never true.

Are you going to be supporting Kerry Katona on Dancing On Ice?
I watch the programme so I love the show. Yeah I suppose you have just got to support the one who is best really. So we will see who is good.

We hear Ms Katona is doing very well in training….

Oh is she? Oh cool. I’ll look out for it.

Words: Natalie Edwards

Introducing a hot new talent….her name is Yasmin and she means business!

January 8th, 2011

Yasmin 101102-sh04-015 (2)

There’s a buzz around Yasmin – the latest new girl on the musical block.
I can’t get enough of the 22-year-old who originally hails from Manchester via Glasgow and has now settled in London. Think early 90’s soulful vocals spread over atmospheric Massive Attack Style beats – with a handful of dubstep thrown in courtesy of Shy FX on debut single On My Own, released on January 30.
And the half-Iranian lady isn’t just a pretty face (she’s been snapped up by Storm Models) as she initially wowed the likes of Pharrell Williams with her nifty DJ skills. Plus she’s already had a Top 20 hit by featuring on rapper Devlin’s track Runaway.
My gal Natalie Edwards caught up with the budding trailblazer to chat about feisty female chart rivals, fashion and her rumoured romance with Tinie Tempah!

So tell me Yasmin, how did you make the switch from being a DJ to becoming a hotly-tipped artist?
I was always a massive music fan and music lover and that sort of led to my DJ career. A friend of mine was a DJ and I always use to nag him to play certain tracks. One night he was like ‘Right, I’m going to the toilet – play some tracks until I get back’ and from then I just caught the buzz. But I was always singing and writing songs. I would socialise with musicians and producers and they started believing in me and encouraged me to pursue it so that’s what I did.

And you moved from your home in Glasgow to London to help with that..
Yes in April I will have been in London for three years. It was quite daunting but I’m the type of person that takes things head on and doesn’t get intimidated or scared by things like that. I saw it as a big challenge and London as the land of opportunity.

Feisty females are dominating the charts at the minute. Does this excite you?
I’m very much about ‘Girl Power’. I know it sounds very nineties and Spice Girls-ish but it’s nice to see girls who are genuine and talented and not gimmicky and manufactured. So for me it’s more the merrier. It would be incredible to have even more girls who have something to stay and who are truly talented. It’s great for the whole scene and the women in the industry because it’s gets so stereotyped – the more women that can help fight that is great!

I guess most people expect all you girls to be bitching about each other and pulling hair extensions out…
The thing is, it can be like that. I just know myself and I’m from a very genuine place. I’m not very egotistical and don’t want it to be all about ‘me, me, me’. I come from the DJ scene which is like a community and I kind of want that same community – like a movement – where we are all supporting each other. So if I’m not having a Top 10 hit one week someone like Emeli SandŽ or Katy B will be. I think rather than having one great artist, it’s so much better to have a group of great artists all pushing music forward and that’s what I’m about. That’s why I am so excited about this year as there are so many great people coming out with new music.

Yasmin 101102-sh01-017 1
Who are your favourite fellow ladies in pop?
I’m a big fan of Robyn – I think she’s incredible and a wicked writer, performer and singer. I also love Jessie J and think she’s proper ballsy and will be a huge popstar. Katy B makes me smile whenever I meet her as she’s the sweetest girl and every time I see her doing well it makes me feel happy. It’s a healthy place for women at the minute.

Are you aware of the buzz around you for 2011?
I’m flattered. I love doing interviews as it gives me the chance to be heard and understood as I think I’m an easy person to stereotype if you don’t know me. It happened with my DJing and people were like ‘you only got it because you’re a girl’ and ‘you only got it because you look like this’. Eventually over time people started to understand me and see that I was the real deal. I’m not interested in being famous and would rather be respected for my music than be a public figure.

Is there any truth in the rumour that Pharrell helped you get signed and is now a mentor?
You know what it’s like – people add on to the story. Soon it will be ‘Pharrell is your dad’! I’ve met N*E*R*D a handful of times and I supported them at The Roundhouse in 2008. They were back in London the following year and when they were leaving Pharrell threw a small leaving party. It was really private and intimate get-together and he asked me to DJ there. So I got to hang out and speak to his manager and off the back of that I got to DJ for Eve. So N*E*R*D and Pharrell did manage to get me some great opportunities and I’m very grateful for that. You never know, one day he might get me into the studios.

Did Pharrell give you any good advice?
Not really but I remember when I was DJing at his little party there was a real laid back vibe so I was playing a lot of funky soul and chilled R&B. Pharrell just came up and he was like: ‘Look I just want to hear dubstep’. I asked if he was sure as it was such a chilled-out summer evening party but he was like: ‘Trust me, all I want to hear his dubstep’. It was his party so I had to play it. He just sat there vibing and everyone else was looking at me like: ‘What on earth are you playing that for?’ So there you have it – Pharrell loves dubstep!

And I also hear that you’re chummy with Will.i.am?
I DJ’d once when he had a party. He signed my friend Natalia Kills so I have run into him a few times. He’s awesome and very eccentric. You can tell he was born to be a star and he’s very ‘yap, yap, yap’ all the time and ‘music music’. He’s really cool. The way he talks he can convince you that your own mother is a cabbage. He can talk you into anything because he’s so persistent.

Do you think he’ll help you break America like he’s doing with Cheryl Cole?
I don’t think so. I’ve been chatting to some labels in America but nothing has been set in stone. It’s nice to have any interest from America at this point. I feel that I have to kind of represent in Britain first before I can even think of going off over there.

So fill me in on what we can expect from your debut album…

It’s about three-quarters done now and by the end of February I’m looking to have it all wrapped up. The first single On My Own is with Shy FX and I have also worked with Labyrinth on two tracks including one called Told You So.

Is there anyone else you’re hoping to get on the record?

I’m really want to work with a guy called Jerry Wonder who did a lot with The Fugees. Plus Salaam Remi who’s a wicked producer and has worked with Amy Winehouse so we’ll see what happens.

What kind of sounds can we expect to hear?

Personally I’ve really grown to despise this over-produced, over-compressed pop-electro noise. Everything now is the same and it’s like one big song on the radio. It really feels like now it’s a new year and a fresh start and there are so many new artists coming through. My sound is gritty and British and it has a lot of soul. There are a lot of gritty beats and I like gritty, hard production. I get a lot of inspiration from real-life situations and songs that people can relate to. That’s what I love about other people’s music when I listen to it.

And I hear you’re striking a pretty pose by also taking up modelling?

I’ve been talking to Storm and they’re going to take me on as a special booking and do bits and pieces. But I won’t be on the catwalks or be doing photoshoots for anything that isn’t music related. I’m not tall enough or skinny enough to be a proper model sadly but I’m cool with that.

And the fashion world is adoring you’re style…

I love clothes but most importantly I love being comfortable. I love vintage and quirky accessories. It’s really flattering when people comment on my style and say they like it. No designers have got in touch yet but in my video I worked with Gisele Ganne who designed my incredible rings and Maria Francesca Pepe who designed the big cross which I wear on my single cover. I adore the cross and am keeping my fingers crossed that they may send it to me as a gift!

There have been reports that you are dating Tinie Tempah. Is there any truth in you breaking thousands of girls hearts?
Not at all. We’re friends and that’s as far as it goes. Obviously nothing like that has even been written about me before so it was kind of like ‘Oh my God!’. I am friends with lots of people in the industry so I’m sure it’s not going to be the last time that it happens. For me I am very much focused on my music so it’s kinda annoying that people will be now asking if I’m dating him. But you know, it happens and people do find it difficult to believe that girls and guys can just be friends. But that’s really all it is.

Are you single?
I am. I don’t really have the time for anything. I am really into what I’m doing but hopefully there will be time at some point. I’m just waiting for Johnny Depp to give me a call!

All the gossip from New Year celebrations in Barbados

January 6th, 2011

*The two most important women in Simon Cowell’s life have been at each other’s throats over the festive season in Barbados.
Cowell’s current squeeze Mezhgan Hussainy and his ex Sinitta Malone (yes, that’s her full name) could hardly bear to be in the same room all holiday.
My impeccable source tells me: “There’s no love lost between Sinitta and Mezhgan.
“Mezhgan wants Simon to herself now that they’re engaged. But Simon loves Sinitta and she’s been in his life forever so Mezhgan needs to get used to it.”
And Mezhgan acted more like a PA than a lover with her fiancé, according to my source who said: “Simon arrived at the Tabor bash and said, ‘I think I want a beer.’ And Mezhgan toddled off to the bar for him.”
And it sounds like Mezhgan’s mood failed to improve.
Word reaches me from the female loos of the fabulous Lonestar restaurant that a toilet attendant said to her: “Oh you’re Simon’s girlfriend, aren’t you?” To which Mezhgan snapped: “Fiancée!” Then stormed out.
She then tried to shake off Sinitta by planning a romantic cruise with Simon on a superyacht to St Barts. But they were forced to abandon the trip because of bad weather.
It was only when they all went to Global Radio boss Ashley Tabor’s bash on Wednesday evening that relations showed any sign of a thaw. That man knows how to throw a shindig. As well as Take That performing, the charmer laid on a huge barbecue and a free bar for 500 guests.
But there was still no peace for Mezhgan – she was forced to share Simon with Sinitta and the rest of the gang as they all rang in the New Year at the Sandy Lane Hotel.
She finally got shot of Sinitta yesterday when the singer returned to Blighty with her kids – but Simon brought his pal Paul McKenna along when they set sail for a 10-day Caribbean cruise yesterday.
At least Si’s other former flame Jackie St Clair skipped the annual trip to Barbados to spend time with her husband Carl Michaelson in France.
Meanwhile I hear Rihanna couldn’t get to Simon at the bash and refused to pose for pictures with fans (including kiddies). Instead she spent the evening with Westlife Kian Egan’s wife Jodi Albert nattering in a private room with Kian and Mark Feehily. Kian joked: “Jodi and Rihanna are besties now, ha!”

*It’s safe to say that Take That were not feeling in the mood for attention following their performance at Ashley Tabor’s bash.
The boys performed a five song set at the exclusive shindig on Wednesday and disappeared from view shortly afterwards.
The lads weren’t paid but were put up in the luxurious Sands Hotel for their entire stay. Jason brought his mum, Howard brought girlfriend Katie Halil, Gary flew solo and Mark brought his wife Emma.
But despite the glam atmosphere, the guys didn’t seem in the mood to party. My source revealed: “The lads weren’t in the mood for a million people bugging them so they were whisked to a private room in Ashley’s house. They stayed there downing vodka cocktails until nearly 3am with Mark and Kian
from Westlife and Rihanna. Mark had a face like thunder and wasn’t mixing much – I guess it’s because he doesn’t drink or anything anymore.
“It was very much a turn up, sing, show-face and go. Thankfully they were great when they sang. They got kids and the women up on stage for the finale too.” Why so shy boys?!

Shhh
WHICH star that loves a vacation or two also sets up all her own paparazzi shots – she even gets passers by on beaches to take shots on her own camera before getting them professionally airbrushed!

barbados 033

*Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber seems to be falling in love with the island of Barbados more and more these days. I hear he’s extending his property empire on the island. As well as his huge mansion within the Sandy Lane estate he’s now finalizing plans to buy a multi-million pound pad in the new Four Season’s beachside resort. Set alongside Sandy Lane Hotel the Lord will be neighbours with Simon Cowell. It’s alright for some.

*Golfer Lee Westwood was the man to get Simon Cowell’s concentration for over half an hour at Ashley Tabor’s plush bash. My mole in the know tells me the pair sat down for over half an hour while Simon’s other half Mezghan looked on bored out of her skull. I never knew Simon liked golf!

*Keeping low key at the party wasn’t easy for Simon Cowell and Sir Philip Green. Especially when the DJ played Travie McCoy’s hit song Billionaire. The whole room stopped and pointed at the pair in an embarrassing fashion. My source tells me: “Philip spent part of the evening dancing with Lizzie Cundy and twirling her around and then when the song came on the whole room stopped and pointed at him.”
Admittedly Simon’s some way off being a billionaire with a fortune of just over £150 million. But the Topshop boss easily falls into that category!

*Barbados resident Jack Kidd took all four of his children along to the Tabor bash alongside the Sandy Lane Hotel and his daughter Jaden, nine, sounded a little starstruck to say the least. A gust tells me: “She walked in with Jack and they spotted Simon Cowell right in front of them and Jaden’s jaw dropped to the floor. Simon l walked up to her and said: “Yes, it is me.” And carried on his conversation.” Classic.

*It wasn’t just Sandy Lane stacking in the celebs. The exclusive Coral Reef Club managed to pack in a lot of Brit names too. Showbiz manager Jonathan Shalit and his wife Katrina were enjoying a Christmas break and Westlife boys Kian Egan and Mark Feehily were also enjoying the sunshine.

*ITV at the Movies host Lizzie Cundy (above with me) is on flying form right now. She may be putting her marriage to footballer Jason Cundy to bed with a somewhat messy divorce the jolly presenter is designing a new range of bikinis for LA firm Sandstorm.
Over a cocktail at sunset she revealed: “I’m doing good. Obviously the divorce isn’t a great situation but things are going well.
“My two boys are happy and healthy, I’m designing this swimsuit range and I’ll be flying out to LA for the Oscars where I’ll be interviewing all the stars including Leonardo DiCaprio. What do I have to complain about?” Nothing, Lizzie. Nothing.

*Loser alert, loser alert! That Ben Duncan from Big Brother and a equally posh and annoying male friend were on my British Airways flight out to the sunny isle. The ‘star’ gets the award for the lowest rent person to pop out to the Caribbean island for a holiday. Well, let’s face it. There was always going to be somebody falling victim to that honour! Oh, and he was in economy too. Ha.

*I’ve finally found something that ruins Nicky Clarke’s usually pristine hair – a flight to Barbados. The chopper was alongside me on the flight over to the island and looked a right old mess when he landed. His hair was all over the place and he wasn’t freshly shaven as per usual.

My best celebrity bits during the year that was 2010…..

January 4th, 2011

It was a monster of a year in the showbiz world – and here are my best bits! I’ve met some legends, some divas and some fabulous new acts. And 2011 is all set to be bigger and better. Enjoy the ride! Merry Christmas and here’s to a fabulous new year!

Best Adventure
Blagging my way into the most exclusive party of the showbiz calendar made all my Oscar dreams come true. At the Vanity Fair post Oscar bash I mingled with Best Actor Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Guy Pearce. Before that I’d partied with Elton John, Louis Walsh, Demi Moore and Grace Jones at his fabulous annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar bash. Victoria Beckham also ordered me to get “wasted” because she couldn’t. I did. See you in March, Sir Elt!

Best New Act
Hurts (above) released a corker of an album this year. Happiness was the soundtrack to my summer and the boys are busy on a second album as we speak. I can’t ruddy wait. Hanging with them side of stage at V Festival was fabulous.

JANET JACKSON AND DEAN PIPER

Best Dinner Date
Janet Jackson (above) invited me for drinks and nibbles when she flew into London to promote her film Why Did I Get Married Too? We talked Michael, relationships and fashion – she couldn’t have been sweeter if she’d tried.

Best Ibizan Adventures
Kylie Minogue (above) invited me out to Ibiza for her Aphrodite album launch and performed at Pacha after a blinding set from Swedish House Mafia. I’m squealing with excitement about this year’s Kylie tour. I also popped to stay with my old mucker James Blunt ahead of his Some Kind of Trouble album launch – that guy knows how to party!

Best Festival Moment
I did Glastonbury, Bestival and V Festival this year and it’s always the sets that you don’t expect to be awesome that turn out to be. Pet Shop Boys stole the show at Glasto and partying with the likes of Will Young, Vanilla Ice and Lily Allen in the PlayStation 3 area afterwards was a real bonus.

Best Party
The Glamour Magazine Awards were a reason to get dolled up as always. This year I hung with Lily Allen, Florence Welch, Tess Daly and Amanda Holden. A close second was the GQ Man of the Year Awards. Alexa Chung (above) kept me company at that bash.

Best Interview
Cheryl Cole invited me backstage at X Factor to say hello before one of the live finals. She munched on twiglets, guzzled champers and was cute as can be – just like the old days before the days of that sleaze bag Ashley. Her album Messy Little Raindrops proves she’s here to stay as a solo act. Hurrah.

Woman of the Year
Dannii Minogue has proved once again that she can multi task. This time around she’s made her clothing line a huge success, been a judge on X Factor and released an autobiography. Oh, and don’t forget she’s done all this whilst having a baby. D, I salute you.
