Peaches Geldof: “Yes, I’m engaged!”

Peaches Geldof has big news to celebrate – she’s finally admitted she’s engaged to boyfriend Thomas Cohen.
The star confessed all to me this week when we hit the fabulous Gareth Pugh for MAC launch party at the University of Westminster. And she couldn’t help but gush about how her life has come around full circle of late.
“Yes I’m engaged,” the newly svelte star beamed. “It happened six months ago but we are only just making it public now. We don’t want to get married for a couple of years yet and I knew what people would say. We first met four years ago and we bumped into each other last Christmas on Portobello Road and started dating again and that’s where he asked me. It was very romantic and I’m really happy. We don’t want to get married for a couple of years yet though so don’t expect me in a wedding dress for a long time.”
After, it’s fair to say, a rocky few years she’s looking fantastic, is happier than ever before and has ditched the nightlife she craved so badly when she emerged as a wild child teen all those years ago. It must be a weight off father Sir Bob Geldof’s mind that peaches has changed her wild ways. She’s even bought a house with her boy Tom – who plays in a band called S.C.U.M.
“We’ve just bought a beautiful 3-bed Victorian house in London,” Peaches added. “I’ve spent the whole of today trying to sort getting a mortgage – it’s such a strange adult territory! And it’s been a real bitch getting it too. They nearly didn’t let me have it – maybe it’s probably because they recognised me. It’s the perfect place and size for me and my fiancé and we got it pretty cheap for what it should have cost.
“I can’t wait to start decorating it. I’m obsessed with buying vintage sofas off of Ebay for £200. I now have five of them! Tom came round my flat today which is tiny and you can barely move from all the sofas I’ve bought.”
I couldn’t be happier for Peaches and let’s hope this marriage is more successful than her first. Peach really had us all gasping in horror when she ran away to las Vegas with boyfriend Max Drummey in August 2008 and got hitched on a whim. She divorced Max, who still remains a friend, after just six months. But this time it seems like the real thing. “These days I just sit indoors and nest,” she laughed. “I’ve left all my crazy years behind me. I’m just a really happy girl looking towards a great future now.” I’ll raise a glass to that.

OMG…..a quickie with Peaches Geldof!

Why do a show like OMG?
I just think I wanted to do a show to give something back to people. I’ve had a lot life experience. It gave me a chance to do the Louis Theroux thing by going out and meeting people and then the studio and find out people’s weird habits and life experiences. It was never going to be a Jeremy Kyle style show. It’s not pun dative and in your face. It’s a show that goes back to the Word days and that youthful factor. I think it will appeal to people that want a show from back in the day.

You’ve taken a bit of a kicking in the press of late over the show!
The critics are always going to try and tear me apart. I don’t know if they just want to slag me off. I hoped people would be strangely drawn into the show.

What’s your personal ‘OMG’ moment?
I don’t really have an OMG moment myself. Nothing phases me anymore. I don’t consider any of my life to be an OMG moment. I’m not phased my lots. People would have to take a dump on my face for me to be shocked.

What’s next for you? Acting?
I’d like to do some acting in the future. But right now I’m concentrating on writing lyrics and music. I’m with the band in LA. It’s a band with my friend Jay and a few of the girls. I’m the singer and Jay sings too.

Are you living in London more these days then?
I will be living more here in London because of Tom and because of work. I miss LA though and my work out there. He’s a thin guy. I’ve gone from Eli the bear to Tom the skinny emaciated boy. We have about the same size waist but he’s fit and I like him a lot. He’s actually extremely sweet. He’s a good Jewish boy. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. I won’t date a non Jew.

What would be the best compliment you could possibly receive?
For me to be compared in any way to my mother would be the greatest compliment I could ever have. She was the greatest.

Peaches Geldof and Eli Roth have split…..

It’s my sad duty to report Peaches Geldof and her Hollywood producer boyfriend Eli Roth have called time on their relationship.
My sources tell me after just eight short months Peaches and Eli mutually agreed to part company, citing work commitments and too much time apart as the main cause of the split.
A source close to the pair reveals: “Peaches is really sad that things didn’t work out with Eli.
“They were very much in love and she’d never been so nuts about a guy. But both are hard workers and they both have huge work commitments coming up and they were due to be spending so much time apart.
“It was almost better for them to part ways before things got even trickier with making time for each other. They remain great friends and her time spent with him will remain extremely precious – but it’s over.”
It’s no huge surprise that the pair, who first stepped out in public at this year’s Vanity Fair Oscars party, must have struggled to make things work.
Eli’s been all over the globe promoting his latest hit movie The Last Exorcism. Peaches went on the road for a bit of it – but she always knew she was going to be chasing the promo trail with Eli if they lasted as a couple.
And what’s even worse is the timing of this break-up. Peaches has had a crappy old couple of months.
Her grandfather, Bob Snr, and her aunt both passed away recently and it was also the 10th anniversary of her mother Paula Yates’ death.
Fortunately friends of the star have rallied around her and they tell me she’s now throwing all her energy into work. “She’s got loads in the pipeline,” adds the source. “She’s been busily working on TV projects and she’s going to be back in the UK in January to work on a major TV project.
“She’s not sitting about feeling sorry for herself. She’s ambitious with her career and still has a lot that she wants to achieve. Peaches really wants to make a go of being a presenter – and is just at the beginning of her career.”

Peaches Geldof's lover Eli Roth defends her in rant over drug allegations

Peaches Geldof’s boyfriend has hit out at the man that claims to have enjoyed a heroin fuelled sex session with the star.
Horror film director Eli Roth, who’s been dating the daughter of Live Aid founder Sir Bob Geldof for two months, posted a 1,200 word letter on social networking site MySpace a week after pictures of Peaches allegedly engaging in a drug fuelled romp with Ben Mills, 23, surfaced on the internet.
Ben claims he and Peaches injected heroin together during a short-lived affair in Los Angeles last November which culminated with the pair waking up in a Scientology Centre cleansing sauna.
The letter – addressed to Ben’s mother Meredith Bluett-Mills, hits out at claims model and TV presenter Peaches is a drug user – saying she’s fully clean.
The letter also refers to the struggles Peaches has faced dealing with the death of her mother Paula Yates – who died from a heroin overdose in 1998 when Peaches was just 11 years old.
In his letter Eli says: “At first Peaches and I thought nothing of the posting – the story was simply too preposterous. Your son’s fairy tale culminates with him dazed and vomiting in a sauna at the Scientology Celebrity center, a place notoriously so high security that no non-member would ever be admitted and left alone, let alone a strung out one. But look closely at the specifics of your son’s story: he did not pick a drug associated with sex like ecstasy or cocaine, he chose heroin. Why? Because not only has Peaches openly talked about drug use in her past, her mother tragically died from a heroin overdose when Peaches was young. Ben’s story becomes much more salacious if he paints Peaches as heading down a similar path. Peaches does not have a squeaky clean image by any means, in fact, she’s known for being brutally honest and open about her past mistakes in life.
“But she has also worked hard to grow up and overcome her troubled past, and is now drug free. Your son took details from Peaches teenage tabloid stories to make the story more believable, no matter how contrary they are to who she is today. Ben used the most painful events from someone’s past to make himself famous, and it worked. It’s sociopathic.”
Eli, who made his first appearance alongside Peaches at the post-Oscars Vanity Fair party last month, also addresses Peaches sacking as the face and body of underwear brand Ultimo. He adds: “Not only has your son’s horrible lies now painted Peaches as “dangerous” to many who would potentially hire her, but companies like Ultimo Underwear are using this “scandal” as a reason to fire Peaches by saying that she is not a role model for young girls. And for what? Some psychotic story your son made up that people were all too ready to believe because it fell in line with stories from the past. Stories your son clearly read before he made up that post. He knew exactly what he was writing, the details were far too calculated. And that made it all the more destructive.”
Sources close to Peaches reveal the Geldof girl is thrilled by the level of support she’s received from actor-turned-film-director Eli since the news broke. The source reveals: “Eli’s been a tower of strength for Peaches. The worst thing is that she has been clean for a long time and is in a great place right now.
“She’s got so much to look forward to and she’s a young girl. This story could have crushed her but it hasn’t she’s keeping her head down and with Eli in LA. She’s there for the rest of the year and is taking her acting lessons and having some time out.”

Peaches Geldof moves back home with Bob and talks fashion in New York

I popped along to the Marchesa fashion presentation with London’s very own Peaches Geldof. And the star, who’s been presenting for GMTV from NY Fashion Week, told me she’s not everything had gone to plan in the Big Apple. “I had my bag nicked,” she said. “It was full of all my stuff – including make-up and my passport. So that was annoying and I had to buy a load of new make-up. But I’ve had a ball out here. I’ve interviewed people like Anna Sui, done the Betsey Johnson fashion show and Marchesa was amazing. I’m jetting back to London and covering London Fashion Week all this week.”
And in between all the work Peaches tells me she’s finally moved out of the Mayfair Hotel where she’s been a resident for weeks now and is back at her dad Bob’s place in south London. She told me: “It’s a darn sight cheaper than being in a hotel going back to dad’s so that’s why I’ve done it. I have a week at home with the family and then I’m moving back into a flat in London with my best friend Fifi Brown. I’m back in London to stay!” It’s good to have you back!

Quote of the festival goes to Pixie Geldof: “Last night was very interesting, let’s just say I woke up on a picnic bench.”

But she wouldn’t elaborate and instead talked festival fashion with me backstage in the Orange VIP area.

Whereas at previous festivals Pixie has worn an array of fancy-dress wigs, this year she turned up with only one – but not for the want of trying.

Pixie told me: “This year I’ve only one wig – shock horror. I tried to find more after losing all my wigs at last year’s festival, but I didn’t manage to find one I liked. The wig does help with not being recognised, now and again.”

Meanwhile, sister Peaches has been trying out some posing tips from her bosom buddy Paris Hilton. The rock offspring told me: “It’s all about the hand on the hip and a look that says it all.”

Peaches Geldof is testing the waters of Scientology……

The patience of Sir Bob Geldof is set to be tested once more, as I can reveal his daughter Peaches is far more into her Scientology studies than anyone realised.

You have to wonder whether Bob will finally be pushed over the edge by her latest antics researching the mysterious faith. After all, he has remained tight-lipped over her past run-ins with cops, her rumoured drug overdose and her Las Vegas marriage to rocker Max Drummey.

And whereas the presenter-cum-budding fashion designer may have craved the limelight in the past, this time she’s keen to keep things schtum as she explores the religious philosophy.

But she’s been spotted leaving a Church of Scientology centre in LA.

My perfectly-placed source tells me: “Peaches became sober a year ago now. And shortly after she started looking for fulfilment in life.

“She’d had a few crazy years learning to cope with fame and growing up and wanted to see whether she could gain anything in life from any faiths. So she went to a class and since then she’s spent a lot of time reading, attending classes in both New York and London and trying to understand Scientology a bit more.

“She’s not considering herself a Scientologist yet – but she’s enjoying learning about about a new faith.”

I’m not going to knock anybody that’s searching for fulfilment. Each to their own! She would be among some of Hollywood’s biggest stars if she did join the Scientology crew. The Cruises, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley and Juliette Lewis are all converts.

Anyway, I’ve managed to get to the bottom of this “lesbian” phase the star’s said to be going through.

But I’m reliably informed she is far from enjoying the lady-garden on a regular basis. She’s actually casually dating a guy in New York but has once again made sure things are kept on the down-low! “It’s not serious yet,” says my mole. “She’s just enjoying herself.”

And why not?

Peaches Geldof was as hilarious as usual when we caught up for a natter at the launch of her Miss Ultimo campaign at Debenhams in Oxford Street this week. We talked about her body, what it was like stripping off for the campaign, Cannes, Paris Hilton and what she will be calling her first born child!

Were you comfortable being in your smalls on the set shooting the Ultimo campaign?
To be honest I wasn’t that comfortable. I was always running around naked on the shoot and that was fine – but I never would have worn a thong. It’s towards the cheeky young girl sort of look – it was for young girls so Michelle Mone (the head of Ultimo) didn’t envisage thongs and skimpy stuff. The bra’s are not cut to be hugely bust enhancing or anything too. When you are designing a range for young girls you need to be careful about it not being too sexualised and not being too safe too. I think it’s perfect.

It’s not as if you have to be nervous about your body at 20 years old!
Exactly! I wasn’t worried about showing off my body. I’m just 20 – so it’s not as if I have to worry about my body right now. There’s nothing sagging at this point and I don’t need to worry!

You were dressing far more high end in Cannes – a conscious move?
It was a premeditated move to step up the game with the fashion in Cannes. I love the grunge -so it was difficult. Courtney Love in the nineties is my pin-up. All those ripped tights and Doc Martens – I loved that look. That’s what I always look like so I wanted to step it up a notch. I was in Cavalli Couture and it was fitted and Dolce and Gabbana made a one-off dress for me too! I actually couldn’t believe they made me a dress. I really decided to go for it.

Has it tempted you to dress classier for your UK appearances?
If I’m going to events now then I think Cannes has inspired me to step up the game a lot more. I loved it. But don’t expect to see me in the street wearing a designer name. I’m always keeping it strictly grunge or goth. I’m more worried about my hair right now. I want to dye my hair red.”

I never imagined you’d be pals with Paris Hilton! How did that all come about?
I know it’s weird isn’t it? I never thought we’d be friends at all. I was surprised we got on so well.

You do like your trash though….(Peaches has always been a fan of Kerry Katona and Jordan)
Yes, I do love trash. But I don’t think Paris is trashy at all. I never thought she was a Kerry or a Jordan. I’m so devastated that they’ve split. It’s so sad – especially with the kids. Princess Tiaamii is my style guru – you heard it here first. She has a great name and great style. What is Tiaamii anyway? It’s Katie and Peter together. That’s great.

What would you name your kids – bearing in mind your name!
If it was a girl then I’d call her Starburst. Or maybe something Cherry. For a boy I like Tesla – after Nikola Tesla. Maybe for a girl’s name the name Milky Way Starburst would work. In fact – that’s what I’ll call my firstborn daughter.

Peaches and Paris turn out for Glaceau vitaminwater and Quintessentially bash in Cannes

It certainly seems the place to be in Cannes is the Glaceau vitaminwater’s La Plage. Both Paris Hilton (and her man bag Doug Reinhardt from The Hills) and Peaches Geldof graced the Quintessentially bash with their presence last night and both looked rocking. I have to say I think Peaches truly killed it with her little look. Goth chic always works for that girl….

I caught up with the face of Ultimo lingerie last week and we were laughing about her appearance in a Pam Hogg figure hugging cat suit. She told me: “I was just pleased there wasn’t any camel’s hoof in the shots that were taken. Especially considering it made the front of one paper. Could you imagine.” I actually could – and it wouldn’t have been good!

One thing I do respect about Peaches is her own self-imposed booze ban. She’s not had a drop of alcohol for six months. She adds: “I don’t drink – I say I’m straight edged nowadays. People always think I’m tumbling out of clubs – but it’s just not the case.”

Also…..just to clear up reports that she’s going out with a new guy called Matt…..she’s not. She did actually set up Matt with another girl – despite pictures of her giving him a cheeky quick pash. Peaches is single – but going out on dates!

Oh, by the way – other stars at the vitaminwater bash included Hollywood heavy weights Ralph Fiennes, Harvey Weinstein and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Peaches Geldof's tattoo dilemma…..

When Peaches Geldof strips off to her smalls later this month to shoot the campaign for Ultimo’s saucy new lingerie collection you may not see too many of her body etchings. I hear Peaches, who’s splitting her time nowadays between New York and London, is planning to airbrush some of them out. A source tells me: “She’s got control of what tattoo’s get removed and what stays. She wants to keep the shots stylish and feminine and that doesn’t involve all those tats!” Thank the Lord for airbrush, eh!
