Fenech Soler's Ben Duffy: "We can't wait to get back on stage at Glastonbury."

Fenech Soler are one of the most promising new acts to break through this year. But after lead singer Ben Duffy was diagnosed with testicular cancer last month the lads are on a break while he has chemotherapy treatment. The proceeds of their ace new single Stop and Stare will be going towards to the Teenage Cancer Trust and I caught up with Ben this week – and he was on great form. He’s got one more three-week cycle of chemo left and hopes to get the all clear ahead of their first gig at Glastonbury in June. Ben told me: “I’m doing well. I’ve been coping well with the treatment and just hope that I have a scan after and it’s good news. It’s a bit like taking a leap of faith but I’m feeling well. “At first it was extremely frustrating for us all when I found out I was ill. We’d been working so hard and things were really starting to take off and then it happened. But we’ve found it good to have time out. We’re writing loads of new material and recording it. We just can’t wait to hit the road again.”
Ben’s a top guy and Fenech Soler really are such a cool live act. Catch the boys this summer and download Stop and Stare now.
