Television star Myleene Klass has given birth to her second baby girl and named her Hero after the character in Shakespeare’s play Much Ado About Nothing.
Leenie also says the choice of name was influenced a result of ancient Greek mythology.
The musician and Marks & Spencer model, 32, announced she was pregnant with her second child in September last year. Myleene, who found fame as a member of pop band Hear’Say, and fiance Graham Quinn have another daughter Ava, three.
The star’s management announced news of baby daughter Hero’s arrival on her official website on Friday evening saying: “This afternoon (March 25) at 5.02pm Myleene gave birth to Hero Harper Quinn. Weighing 6lb 2oz.”
A spokesman for Myleene added: “Mother and baby are both very well. Myleene, Graham and Ava are all very proud and excited about the arrival of baby Hero.”
The star revealed in a recent interview she had started ‘panicking’ after not falling pregnant so easily like she had done with Ava and doctors even suggested IVF to her.
She revealed: “Ava was a surprise so I assumed it would be easy, but it wasn’t. It’s been tough. You get to the stage where every month you’re waiting, and then when you’re not pregnant, it’s so disappointing.
“I was panicking a bit. The doctors started talking about IVF and I was upset. You think, “This is serious, what if it doesn’t happen?”‘
But she’s clearly thrilled to be a mother again. Myleene worked right up to the day of giving birth and said last week: “I’m glad I’ve kept busy and worked right up until the birth. I’d have been so bored if I’d have put my feet up.”
The star spent a day last week making a plaster cast of her bump to hang on the wall. Myleene – who clearly made the cast just in the nick of time – added: “It’s amazing. It’ll be mounted on my wall with nipple tassels on it.”
