Hairdresser to the stars James Brown (above with a fur clad Fran Cutler) isn’t sure he could cope with the pressure of styling his bosom buddy Kate Moss on her wedding day to Kills rocker Jamie Hince on July 2. The coiffeur told me over a cocktail at the GQ Style launch at the Corinthia Hotel this week: “I’m not sure if I’m going to be doing Kate’s hair yet. I’m going to be the typical gay best friend worrying about the flowers, the dress and what Kate’s mum is wearing that I don’t know if I could cope with worrying about her hair too. Do you know what, I think I’d rather have someone else do it. Maybe Sam McKnight. Sam is genius so that’s who I’d want to be doing Kate’s hair if it isn’t me.” James can currently be seen on E4 with Glamour editor Jo Elvin and Abbey Clancy judging on the Great british Hairdresser. And kooky James says he’s not worried if people think he comes across nasty on the show. “People have been saying that I am coming across as nasty on the show but I really don’t care. I’m not – I’m just honest and very passionate. I’m preparing them for the read world and I still get f**king hairbrushes thrown at me! We’ve just finished filming and I am so f**king proud of the person that won.”
Tune in E4, Mondays at 10pm.
