*Emma Watson was looking smoking hot at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 premiere this week. And it seems she’s enjoying all aspects of her life right now – including being at university in the States. She told me: “I’m playing field hockey at university which is great and working hard and seeing friends. It’s really lovely.
“I don’t miss the long hair. I love it now as it’s very liberating. It’s a little bit colder though. Generally the reaction to my short hair has been positive which is lovely but it’s a bit of a shock for some people as it’s very different. I don’t think I would dye it as I’m very into looking natural so probably not but never say never.”
And it sounds like Emma’s ready to explore new areas in her career now that she’s finished filming on Potter. She added: “I’d love to play a baddie and a very different type of character. I’d also love to try the stage now and that is definitely on the cards. I’d love to play a Shakespearean role.”
*Brian Friedman clearly has a soft spot for X Factor annoyance Katie Waissel. Speaking at the Harry Potter premiere he told me: “I would say that out of everyone Katie is having the most up in spirit week even though she was in the bottom. She seems to come back fighting every week and is like a cat that you can’t kill.
“She was great in rehearsal this week. She came in with no chip on her shoulder, ready to work and she did great. I don’t know how she is so resilient but she is.”
The choreographer has even let her off for forgetting her words in last Sunday’s X Factor sing-off. He laughed: “Sh*t happens. That’s all I have to say about that. I kind of love that she forgot her words and just sat down. A lot of people didn’t like it but it was fun to me. She just gave up in a way.”
