In October Peaches Geldof admitted that her Las Vegas drive-through marriage to Max Drummey of US indie band Chester French definitely wouldn’t last forever. Well, it seems she was right……
Peaches has left her husband of under six months and is flying off on holiday with a statement going out to the press tomorrow saying the pair have decided to end their romance for good.
In October the star said in an interview: “I’m realistic, you can’t ignore divorce rates. Every friend of mine has parents who are divorced. I didn’t go into it with Max thinking, ‘This is going to last forever,’ but I did go into it thinking, ‘I love him right now and I know that I’ll continue to love him for a long while.’ He thinks the same.”
But a source close to the star tells www.deanpiper.com that it’s an amicable end to the short lived marriage. The source says: “Peaches is doing fine. Obviously he’s upset about the end of Max and her. But it’s not like she ever considered this a lifelong thing. It was always going to last a certian amount of time. They will end up being friends one day.”
Rumours of the pair not getting on have been flying around for months with friends saying her life in New York with Max had made her feel incredibly lonely – so the divorce announcement isn’t exactly a surprise…….
Keep your chin up, Peach!
