Bobbi Brown's Make Up Manual pulls in London's uber cool crowd

Posted by Dean Piper On February 2nd, 2009

Make up giant Bobbi Brown held a glittering launch for her new book the “Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual” last week. Held at the fabulous Getty Gallery off Oxford Street in London the event saw stars including Yasmin and Amber Le Bon (above with bikini designer Melissa Odabash), Kelly Hoppen and Yasmin Mills step up to the mirror for a make over – courtesy of Bobbi’s steady handed team of make-up artists.

Actress Angela Griffin told me she’s feeling the effects of the credit crunch – and has even put plans to expand her family on the back burner for the time being. Angela, currently starring in Waterloo Road on BBC1, said: “At the minute everyone’s in the same boat. The most important thing for everyone is paying that mortgage. It’s definitely made me and my husband Jason think more carefully about having a third child.

“Whatever happens if we have a third baby then it’s going to be planned. Big time!”

The star, who’s currently inbetween filming projects, also revealed she’s on a mission to get fit in 2009. “I want to lose at least a stone – so I’m working on that right now,” she laughed. She looks fabulous as she is if you ask me!

Other guests at the glittering event included Yasmin’s gorgeous daughter Amber Le Bon, Jimmy Choo head honcho Tamara Mellon (below), former Blue Peter gal Konnie Huq (above), Lisa Faulkner and Interior Goddess Kelly Hoppen.

When I got back from the launch I gave the book to my flatmate – who FYI immediately said it was a brilliant buy. It gives an in depth guide to creating the hottest looks – and it’s easy to follow. My flatmate is ecstatic she won’t be stepping out looking like a clown at any point in the near future. On behalf of me, thanks Bobbi.

Bobbi Brown’s Makeup Manual is available at all Bobbi Brown stores – for more information log onto or click here.
