I popped along to the Palladium for the Sky + sponsored British Academy Television Awards last night. Personally I think it was a little dull all over by all accounts. Dull nominees, dull outfits and dull winners. I mean dull as in not your typical winners…..the ceremony itself was superbly hosted by Graham Norton if you ask me. But it was still a great laugh.

On the red carpet I spoke to the stars as they arrived.

First up was Alan Dale aka Jim Robinson in Neighbours (and Ugly Betty star) who burst all my bubbles telling me he hated every minute of filming Neighbours day in day out in the eighties. “It just served a purpose to bring in money so I could bring up my children,” he said.
Joanna Lumley revealed she’s desperate to be the first lady to take on playing Bond. She told me: “Can you imagine, me saying. That name’s Joanna, Joanna Bond. I just have to move Daniel Craig out the way.”

Melinda Messenger took to the carpet for the first time since announcing her split from hubby Wayne. She looked radiant and said she was nervous about being back on the single’s market once more. Read all the goss from her in Closer next week…..

EastEnders star Lacey Turner wore a Missoni gown and looked OK. She said she wasn’t at all shocked by the scandalous storyline of Max’s ‘buried alive’ storyline in EastEnders. “It wasn’t a shock that they had that storyline,” she giggled. “We have loads of crazy storylines in the Square. I’ve had a great run of good storylines and I feel very lucky to be in the show.”

Tamzin Outhwaite looked radiant even though she was heavily pregnant on the carpet. She said: “I am towards the end of the pregnancy now. I have a list of names to choose from but we don’t know the sex of the baby yet.” She also said she’s looking forward to hopefully doing another series of her hit show The Fixer. That baby weight will be off before you can say Spanx pants!

SPOTTED: Patsy Palmer, who looked glorious in a Vivienne Westwood dress, lending her hairspray to a random lady in the dinner…..Phil Spencer partying with a handsome taller gentleman at the after party…..Kirsty Allsop said she was ecstatic to be voted one of FHM’s sexiest women in the world…..Amanda Holden scurrying up the red carpet after Piers Morgan and his statuesque girlfriend Celia Walden…..Michelle Collins and Alesha Dixon briefly popped into the party. Michelle left quickish whereas Alesha hit the dancefloor…..Kirsty Young turned up with her mother as her date – you can see where Kirsty gets her looks from…..Kelly Brook wore a fur stole with her dress and will no doubt anger anti-fur protestors!
