Spice Girls Melanie C and Emma Bunton joined me for a natter recently at the Capital Awards.
I couldn’t help but ask Mel about the chances of the band reforming for Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations in Hyde Park in June. Mel beamed: “Maybe, the future is the future so who knows.”
I’ve heard from pals of the band that the ladies WILL definitely do the gig…..
My source in the know says: “They’ve all agreed in principle for one last shout. Mandela’s been a part of their career throughout the years – so it’s a fitting end to their reunion.”
Mel is gearing up for a full blown tour of Canada off the back of the Spice Reunion Tour. She told me: “I’m touring Canada and releasing the This Time album out there. I had a great response when I did solo shows in the US and Canada on the road with the Spices so it’s an exciting time for me. I’ll hopefully manage to squeeze in some summer Europe tour dates too and possibly a UK festival if I can. I’m just as busy since the tour ended.”
