I love going out to a good event and I like nothing more than a good canapé. But last night I didn’t consume one little canapé despite being at the exclusive launch of London Restaurant Week at Covent Garden’s The Hospital.
Next week I jet off to Egypt for a relaxing break. That means we will have a ‘beach situation’ and there is no option for muffin tops to be stacked. So I drank two bottles of Fiji water as I mingled with the stars and avoided the bowls of food (which included roast dinners, sausage and mash and chicken Caesar salad). Even worse it was food prepared by the legendary chef Jean Christophe Novelli. And he was there. He’s hotter in real life than he is in pictures.
He likes the ladies. As soon as BB ‘star’ Aisleyne Horgan Wallace walked in wearing a skimpy black number he took off like a shot and demanded to have his picture with her. Think with your head Jean – not your loins!
After this bash Aisleyne managed to blag her way into Amy Winehouse’ house for an after party that didn’t finish until gone 5am this morning! I’ve been assured Aisleyne won’t be dishing the dirt on what went down – we will have to wait and see with that one!
There was a great mixture of celebs there though. I spent a while chatting to Konnie Huq of Blue Peter fame. She’s reveling in the fact she’s free from the show now. She even had an ample amount of cleavage on show. She’s been offered loads of men’s magazine front covers too….she told me: “They all want me to strip off but I won’t. It’s not me. It’s very liberating to be off the show though. I did feel like sexing up my image when I came off the show. It was a great feeling. I loved every minute of the show though.”
We also spoke about her pal David Walliams, the future and her career plans in America. For now she’s getting ready to host the Red Bull Air Race all over the world.
Also at the party was a sophisticated looking Davinia Taylor, former Apprentice Michelle Dewbury, Gail Porter and her little daughter Honey, part time singer Victoria Hart, Dancing on Ice favourite Aggie McKenzie, lovely Georgina Bouzova from Casualty and Strictly Come Dancing, hilarious looking chef Nancy Lam, Kelle Bryan and Tamara Beckwith and her daughter Anouska.
After this bash I headed to my second bash of the evening – No.1 chart star Estelle’s album launch at exclusive nightclub Paper. The likes of Natasha Bedingfield, Jamelia and Nate James turned out to support the star. Tunes were supplied by the hottest DJ in the world right now – Sam Young.
If you haven’t heard about Estelle’s fantastic album yet then you should be ashamed. It’s ace. It’s called Shine and it’s in the shops and on iTunes now.
